Independent engineering study finds that Xyleco cellulosic ethanol reduces greenhouse gasses by 83%

Wakefield, MA – January 21, 2018 – Xyleco, Inc., a privately held science and manufacturing company, today announced that it has completed an ISO-Compliant Comparative Life Cycle Assessment of its cellulosic ethanol.

The Life Cycle Assessment evaluated the global warming potential (GWP) and blue water consumption (BWC) on a “cradle-to-grave” basis of Xyleco’s cellulosic ethanol produced from corn stover as compared to US corn grain ethanol, Brazilian sugarcane ethanol, and US conventional gasoline in several common fuel blends.

The Life Cycle Assessment found that the global warming potential of Xyleco’s cellulosic ethanol is significantly less than all of the fuels and fuel blends studied:

The Life Cycle Assessment also found that the Xyleco’s patented production process for cellulosic ethanol consumes significantly less blue water than all of the fuels and fuel blends studied:
